Simple behavioural advice
Advice, no therapy
Don't have problems with your cat, but just want advice?
Do you want to know if there is anything else you can do to make his life more pleasant?
Do you want to do as much as possible to prevent behavioural problems?
Then Simple Behaviour Advice might be for you.
A Simple Behaviour Consultation looks like this:
Beforehand, you will be emailed a questionnaire to give me an idea of what you want to achieve with the advice
After you have contacted me and we have discussed what you would like advice on, we make an appointment for a home visit. I will then send you a questionnaire. I will also ask you to make some videos of the cat(s). I would like to get this questionnaire back from you at least two days before the home visit. This is to allow me to prepare properly. If the questionnaire is not returned two days before the home visit, we will cancel the appointment and make a new one.
During my visit to your home, we talk about the subject in question. Afterwards, you will receive a summary of the advice and handouts from me via email.
Please note: simple behavioural advice is only for situations where there are no problems.
The cost of simple behavioural advice is € 90,-
including:
-- home visit of up to 1 hour/ 1.5 hours
-- observation of your cat(s) during the home visit
-- summary of advice given
-- handouts with additional information during/after the consultation
Simple behavioural advice Plus
This service sits between simple behavioural advice and behavioural therapy. It covers situations where there are no problems, but advice is desired plus aftercare. This is in contrast to Simple Behavioural Advice, where no aftercare is given.
An example is (re)introducing a new cat(s). This situation requires guidance, but not therapy.
A Behavioural Advice Plus looks like this:
After you have contacted me and we have discussed what you would like advice on, we make an appointment for a home visit. I will then send you a questionnaire. I will also ask if you want to make films of the cat(s). I would like to get this questionnaire and the videos back from you at least two days before the home visit. This is to allow me to prepare properly. If the questionnaire and videos are not returned two days before the home visit, we will cancel the appointment and make a new one.
During my home visit, we talk about the subject in question. Afterwards, you will receive a summary of the advice and handouts from me via email.
You then start working with your cat yourself. For three months after receiving all the information, you are entitled to aftercare. This means that you can always fall back on me with questions and that I will give additional advice where necessary.
The cost of Behaviour Advice Plus is €135
including:
-- home visit of up to 1.5 hours/ 2 hours
-- observation of your cat(s) during the home visit
-- summary of the advice given
-- handouts with additional information after the consultation
-- up to 3 months after receipt of information guidance by mail/WhatsApp/phone
Behavioural therapy for your cat(s)
Your cat exhibits problem behaviour such as, for example: housesoiling , spraying, stress, scratching objects, aggression towards owner, housemates, intercat aggression or other animals, inability to be alone, fear, self-harm due to excessive grooming, Pica, (eating inedible objects), play aggression
How does behavioural therapy work for your cat(s)?
You are referred to me by your vet or you contact me yourself. After you contact me and we briefly discuss the problem, we make an appointment for a home visit. I will then send you a very extensive questionnaire. I will also ask if you can make some short films of everyday situations and also, if possible, of the problem behaviour. I would like to get this questionnaire and the videos back from you at least two days before the home visit. This is to allow me to prepare properly. If the questionnaire and videos are not returned two days before the home visit, we will cancel the appointment and make a new one.
The home visit takes about two hours. I will again ask you a lot of questions and we will make a tour of the house and possibly garden. During the home visit, I will already give a lot of information, and you can ask me anything you want. After this, I will work everything out at home: I will give my findings, give a cause for the behaviour and draw up a personal therapy plan. If necessary, I will consult your vet. After a week, I will send you this detailed report by e-mail. Your vet may also receive a (short) report from me.
You then start working with your cat(s) yourself. For three months after receiving the report, you are entitled to follow-up care. That means you can always fall back on me with questions and I will give additional advice where necessary.
The cost of Behaviour Therapy for your cat is € 175,-
Behaviour therapy for complex and/or multiple problems/multi-cat household € 215,-
including:
- home visit of approx. 1.5 to 2 hours
- observation of your cat(s) during the home visit
- detailed report of the home visit, diagnosis and therapy plan by email
- handouts with additional information during/after the home visit
-up to 3 months after receipt of report guidance by email/WhatsApp/phone
Please note: in case of housesoiling and spraying, a urinal examination by the vet is required first. This should not have been more than three months ago.
Excessive licking/ scratching/ biting of the fur also requires a physical examination (and check for fleas) by the vet. This should not have been more than three months ago.
That's quite pricey, can't it be cheaper?
I understand that, but no, unfortunately not: I completely tailor the therapy programme to your cat. The consequence of my working method is that it takes many hours.
I have to spend a lot of time, energy and money on further training and professional literature to keep my knowledge up to date.
